Hilda Doolittle was born in Bethlehem, Pa., in 1886. Doolittle made a name for herself as a poet, playwright and novelist. As an admirer of Ezra Pound, Doolittle established herself as part of the Imagist genre and was married to one of its leading exponents, Richard Aldington.
